It began on a wet ridge line.
Lanyra started in 2021. The name joins mountain mist and island: one you can see but not hold, one you can stand on. We build the second kind.
01 / Origin
One failed rainy hike.

The repair bench, January 2026. The 217th pack to come home had its shoulder strap replaced here.
In autumn 2020 we spent six hours in uninterrupted rain on an exposed ridge. The pack’s water repellency failed after two hours, the shoulder straps soaked up nearly a kilogram, and a friend’s bag seam opened on day three.
We spent the next eight months taking apart a dozen daypacks, logging the position and weight of every seam and foam panel. In spring 2021 the first Yuxing 22 appeared: fewer structural parts, fewer materials, easier to repair.
The line still holds three products. Not for lack of ambition, but because every addition is another promise to a supply chain and a repair bench.
02 / Principles
Three lines we will not cross.
01
Light can be counted
Every gram has to justify itself. We do not use “lightweight” as an adjective; we put the number in the spec table.
02
Repair outlasts replace
We decide at design stage which parts will fail first — then make those parts individually replaceable.
03
Fewer, but longer
No seasonal drops. A structure needs at least 40 field tests and two production corrections.
03 / Timeline
A slower kind of progress.
- 2021First Yuxing 22 completedEleven structural parts reduced to four. First run of 120.

04 / The team
Five people: two designers, one materials and supply lead, one repair bench manager, one person talking to stores and customers. No marketing department — the designer writes this site.
